I had to go to AFSCME once. I needed an antifungal medication for my ears. United Health wanted me to pay $150/ month. I wouldn't have needed more than ywo months, but that's still $300.

I called the union. Two hours later I got a call from the pharmacy. My prescription was ready, and my co-pay was $15.

That’s great Walter. But as as retired teachers we are no longer represented by the union. Our retirement healthcare is governed by Medicare and the highly unregulated for-profit Medicare Advantage program of Aetna.
