What Facebook doesn't want you to know about the retired teachers defeat of the Unity Caucus.
Did the union bosses complain to Facebook?
I’m excited about the retired teachers defeat of the ruling UFT Unity Caucus over who runs what is essentially the retiree chapter.
Apparently the Unity Machine is not so much excited as they are agitated about it.
Were they agitated enough to complain to Facebook?
I wrote about the retiree win in a substack post a few days ago.
But when I reposted retired union activist Arthur Goldstein’s post to my Facebook feed, it was removed. The faceless one’s at Facebook told me it violated community standards and was click-bait and if I ever was bad again they would ban me from Facebook altogether.
They also removed Arthur’s own post from his own Facebook feed.
When he reported this on his Facebook feed others commented that they had also posted Arthur’s report and it was removed from their feeds as well.
You can read Arthur’s banned post here.
Meanwhile you might also read Jonathan’s post about when he first realized Unity was gonna go down to a rare but deserved defeat.
And here is a video response from Marianne Pizzitola of the The NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees about the retired teacher union election.
If we weren’t winning they wouldn’t be complaining.
