Trump and Nick Fuentes do lunch.
My art is on Instagram @klonskyart.
White supremacist Nick Fuentes has a problem with the Republican Party.
It’s not fascist enough yet for his taste.
But he’s working on it.
So, naturally he had lunch with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
The media was shocked at the news that the white supremacist anti-democratic head of the Republican/MAGA Party would do lunch with a leading American fascist.
But the meeting is just the most recent evidence that the MAGA Party and it’s dear leader are enemies of democracy.
Trump has admitted he met Fuentes but said he had no idea who he was. “[Ye] unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about,” Trump said.
One person present at the dinner, however, said that Trump was impressed by Fuentes. “He was impressed with Nick and his knowledge of Trump World. Nick knew people and figures and speeches and rallies and what surrounded the Trump culture, particularly when it came to the base,” Karen Giorno, a former Trump aide and senior adviser, told the Washington Post.
It challenges logic to think that a former president doesn’t know who he’s breaking bread with.
Jonathan Greenblatt, the chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League condemned Trump’s meeting with Fuentes and expressed shock at the development.
How is Greenblatt “shocked”? Has Greenblatt been asleep these past six years.
“This is just another example of an awful lack of judgment from Donald Trump, which, combined with his past poor judgments, make him an untenable general election candidate for the Republican party in 2024,” said Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey, who may also run in 2024 and has become a critic of Trump, despite being a close former ally.
God, Christie is a worthless blow hard.
This is not about Trump’s “judgment”.
Fuentes gained notoriety after helping to organize the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 in which a anti-fascist protester was killed.
At the time Trump remained silent about the white supremacist violence for 48 hours and then famously blamed “both sides.”
Days after the white supremacist lunch at Mar-a-lago, most prominent Republicans couldn’t be quieter.
That’s because it’s a fascist Party.
