The Trump stink ensnares NY's Mayor Adams.
Eric Adams is pretty much done as Mayor of New York.
But it is what finally may do him in that is interesting to me.
It won’t be the corruption.
Or even his indictment for that corruption.
It is that he sold himself and the city of New York to Donald Trump and Trump’s call for mass deportations.
That doesn’t fly in New York.
It became clear what he had done when he sat down on that couch with the creepy Tom Homan on Fox and Friends.
Homan said it.
If you don’t cooperate with us going after immigrants in New York we are going to yank your chain.
After all, the Trump DOJ hadn’t totally dropped the indictment. They could bring it back at any time.
That deal had led to mass resignations by even the most conservative, Heritage Foundation lawyers at the DOJ.
And resignations of Adams own senior members in his administration.
Now Governor Hochul is under increasing pressure to use her power to fire Adams from his job.
It would probably be naive to think Hochul might do the right thing.
But either way, Adams is toast. He won’t be the next mayor of New York.
And it was cozying up to Trump on immigration that was the final straw.
