Kash Patel, ReTrump’s choice for director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is a political hack and a dangerous one at that.
Patel has already promised to send the FBI after those on Trump’s enemies list on his first day.
Patel’s appointment requires Senate approval, and he is likely to get it.
There was some immediate push back in the media and among some electeds who are not quite ready to kiss ReTrumps ass.
But then something happened.
Just as the negative reaction to Kash Patel was building, President Biden announced that he was pardoning his felonious son, Hunter.
Now the news is all about Hunter and the Kash story has fallen below the fold.
It is almost as if this was the plan, although that isn’t likely I guess
It is consistent for this hapless soon-to-be ex-president however
I really don’t care about Hunter Biden.
But if Biden is going to exercise the presidential power of the pardon and clemency he ought to broaden his reach beyond his crooked son.
I’m thinking back to Jimmy Carter who pardoned over 200,000 Vietnam War draft evaders as he was leaving office.
I didn’t love Jimmy Carter as president.
But as someone who actively opposed the draft during the Vietnam War and counseled draft-age guys on how to oppose the draft and oppose the war, I applauded Carter’s move.
Today, there are many who are unfairly incarcerated and who could use a Biden Pardon.
For example, there is Leonard Peltier, the imprisoned American Indian Movement activist who many think of as America’s Nelson Mandela.
Let Biden know that you think the power of the pardon should be used to free Leonard Peltier and others who are unfairly incarcerated
