Anne filled the gas tank at Costco yesterday for fifty bucks.
That’s a lot of money but it was a dollar a gallon cheaper than at the BP station at North and the expressway.
They say gas prices are going down.
So are Biden’s polling numbers.
A recent NY Times/Siena poll shows two thirds of Democrats wanting someone else in 2024.
Biden is a disaster.
I can’t imagine this weeks trek to the Middle East will boost his poll numbers much.
A lot was made of his handshake with the murderous former Israeli prime minister Netanyahu and his fist bump with murderous Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
It was a week in which many in the media pointed out the canyon between his campaign promises and current reality of this trip.
When he was a candidate he promised to do more about Palestine. Biden had nothing but praise for the apartheid state and paid barely any attention to the Palestinian plight, including the recent Israeli murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
He promised to make Mohammed bin Salman a pariah for his role in dismembering NY Times reporter Jamal Khashoggi.
He promised a return to the Iran Nuclear deal.
But Biden, allowing West Virginia Senator Tom Manchin to decide the Party’s energy and climate policies, knows America needs oil.
Then there is China.
Biden isn’t hiding his concerns about the threat China poses. Washington has been long been Riyadh’s superpower patron of choice, but Beijing is waiting in the wings.
