Debating the best way to support genocide.
In a more generous world, both of them would drop out.
Yes, yes, yes.
Trump lies and Biden’s performance exposed his frailty and cognitive decline.
Nothing about that statement is breaking news.
But both were very clear on their views about Israel’s war on Gaza.
And one of the reasons Biden will likely lose his job.
Trump called Biden “a very bad Palestinian” who doesn’t want to help Israel “finish the job” against Hamas in its genocidal war on Gaza.
Trump the racist was using “Palestinian” as a racist slur.
“He doesn’t want to do it. He’s become like a Palestinian.”
It was another Trump lie.
In fact, Biden early in the war shamefully declared himself a Zionist.
In the debate Biden outlined the three phases of his ceasefire proposal and told his own lie that Hamas is the only one who wants the war to continue and is standing in the way of the deal.
He aligned himself with Netanyahu once again, saying that Netanyahu’s campaign against the Palestinians in Gaza has - against all evidence - resulted in Hamas being greatly weakened.
I recall that Biden’s support for Netanyahu and Israel’s war on Palestinians represented the first crack in the Democratic Party coalition.
In the early Michigan primary large numbers of Muslim and Arab voters refused to cast a ballot for Biden and chose uncommitted instead.
But Biden has learned nothing from having fractured the united front against Trump.
In the long run, Biden’s support for Israel’s war will be seen as the primary reason for his downfall long after anyone will remember his lousy debate performance.
