Crossing borders. Immigrants and those seeking reproductive rights.
I wonder what Florida's Venezuelan voters think about all this.

News this week is that the Queen is still dead.
Also, Republican governors have caused a critical storm by forcing or fooling legal immigrant asylum seekers to sanctuary cities like Chicago.
Illinois Governor Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lightfoot will not be played by these fools.
Both rightly criticized the inhumanity of those like DeSantis, Ducy and Abbott while making accommodations for the new arrivals.
The south suburban mayor of mainly white Countryside wrote to the Sun Times showing his support for Pritzker and Lightfoot.
There are 1.7 million immigrants living in the Chicago area. We have always been a city of immigrants.
There are too many ironies in this story.
Red state governors, banning reproductive rights in their own states, want laws that forbid people seeking abortions from crossing state lines to have them.
But busing immigrants without notice across state lines is okay.
Note that Chicago is a sanctuary city for both immigrants and abortion seekers.
Another irony is that while Florida is home to the largest Venezuelan immigrant population in the United States, it was Venezuelan immigrants DeSantis loaded on planes to Martha’s Vineyard.
Like many of Florida’s Cuban voters who left Cuba after the revolution, Venezuelan immigrants are politically conservative opponents of their homeland’s socialism and when they become citizens they vote Republican.
Venezuelans are the fasted growing Latino population in the United States and most are in Florida.
They overwhelmingly voted for Trump in 2020.
Florida is a very swing state.
I wonder how they feel about DeSantis treating their fellow Venezuelans this way.
