CPD riot squad clears De Paul encampment. Where was the riot?
Preview of the Democratic Convention? What's the deal Mayor Johnson?

The world waits with outrage and concern as Israel sends the IDF into Rafah.
This morning the last college encampment in the Chicago area was destroyed by riot-helmeted cops from the Chicago Police Department.
But where was the riot?
There was no riot.
For two weeks the students at De Paul, a Catholic university, have peacefully and using non-violent tactics, occupied the quad.
The University administration claimed that they were protecting free speech by calling in the CPD riot squad.
Say, what?
They said that they were at an impasse.
As with other university encampments the students were demanding that the school cut off investments in Israel.
Where at other schools, like Northwestern, the same demand led to negotiations, De Paul’s administration decided to call the riot squad instead.
Chicago cops.
What’s the deal Mayor Johnson?
One can only imagine what will happen at the Democratic convention in August.
Chicago’s administration is taking the same position as De Paul.
The Mayor will make no compromises when it comes to where the protesters can be.
"If people are involved in an encampment that has put people in harm’s way, then it is my job to create a secure environment so that people are not in harm’s way," Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said in an interview.
Not good.
Not good at all.
I’m old enough to have seen this movie before.

But who would have thought that in this movie Mayor Johnson would be playing the role of Mayor Daley?
Meanwhile, in Rafah…
