Biden expands Trump deportation program.
The announcement was missed by the media because of the Republican clown show in Washington.
When addressing immigration on the southern border, President Joe Biden talks out of both sides of his mouth.
On the one hand he says he opposes the use of the Trump era border measures and even said on Thursday, "I don't like Title 42.”
But that was right after making a speech saying he would rapidly expel migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela entering the U.S. illegally.
In January of 2017 I joined thousands of people at Chicago’s O’Hare airport protesting Trump’s order stopping Muslims and those from Muslim nations from entering the U.S.
Biden appears to be following both his predecessors, Obama and Trump, on immigration policies.
Obama deported record numbers when he was in office.
So, out of one side of his mouth Biden decries Title 42 and says he’s trying to end it, while out of the other side of his mouth he repeatedly turns to Trump-era policies to restrict entry to immigrants on the border with Mexico.
Biden officials say that the Supreme Court has left them with no other choice, but they’ve also chosen to expand the policy beyond any courts’ order.
During a mid-day press conference yesterday, while most of the media attention was on the Republic clown-show to elect Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, Biden announced his new restrictions on immigration.
The announcement was made as the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice released details of a plan to impose a new regulation — a version of a Trump-era policy often called the “transit ban.”
As with Trumps banning entry to those traveling from Muslim countries, Biden’s entry ban is targeted to specific countries.
Asylum and the free movement of people is a human right.
Cherry-picking people from specific countries undermines a moral obligation to guarantee people, regardless of country, race, ethnicity or language, the right to seek protection and economic opportunity.

At one point, when the neo-liberals were stronger, the Three Freedoms were being proclaimed.
Free movement of goods. Free movement of labor. Free movement of capital. These three freedoms would bring us a world of peace and plenty.
The first two are being restricted, and it looks like some attempts to restrict the free movement of capital are being put in place.
I wonder if the trouble in the House is somehow related?
