A war criminal addresses joint session of Congress. Thousands in the streets to protest.

Senator Bernie Sanders expressed his justified outrage at the presence of Benjamin Netanyahu before a joint session of the U.S. Congress.
“It will be the first time in American history that a war criminal has been given that honor. Frankly, this invitation to Netanyahu is a disgrace and something that we will look back on with regret.”
I love Senator Sanders.
And I get his point even as I have a disagreement with him on whether Netanyahu qualifies as the first war criminal who has addressed Congress.
I’m thinking of Truman, LBJ, Nixon and Bush just to name a few.
Still, I get Senator Sander’s point.
It is reported that around one hundred Democratic Party Congress members boycotted Netanyahu’s speech yesterday.
That’s good.
However, some of those same representatives have voted to continue to supply weapons for Netanyahu’s genocidal war on Gaza.
Some other representatives, like Michigan representative Rashida Tlaib, attended in order to protest the Gaza genocide.
Thousands marched in the streets of Washington in protest Wednesday.
On Tuesday a protest in the Capitol by Jewish Voice for Peace resulted in the arrest of 400.
Saying she had a previously scheduled campaign event, Kamila Harris, did not attend the speech.
Harris and Biden will be meeting with Netanyahu today however.
I would wish that Harris will tell Bibi that if elected she will not continue to pursue the Biden doctrine of recognizing and arming Israel.
I’m not hopeful.
The MAGA Speaker of the House was apoplectic that Harris didn’t show up to stand beside him during Netanyahu’s war tirade.
As was Fox News in describing the protesters.
In some ways, however, the Biden White House’s response wasn’t much different than Fox News.
